The Advanced Resuscitation Techniques course will help you develop skills and knowledge in managing life-threatening external bleeding, the use of oxygen, airway management devices and automated external defibrillators during resuscitation; and to administer oxygen to conscious or unconscious patients. This course meets the requirements for the recognised unit of competency HLTAID015.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

  • at least 15 years of age on the date of final assessment
  • financial member of the Club

PRE-REQUISITES

  • You must hold the unit of competency Provide First Aid (HLTAID011).
  • Once enrolled you will need to complete the online learning before the course starts

COURSE LENGTH

Generally held over 3 weeks, 2 sessions a week. 

ASSESSMENT

You will be assessed through demonstration, presentation and application of all elements of competency. This may include role-plays, oral and written questioning, practical demonstrations, incident documentation and performing scenarios.

SKILLS MAINTENANCE

For this award to remain current you will need to complete an annual proficiency check.
