Changes to Provide First Aid, and Advanced Resuscitation

In late 2021, SLSNSW introduced a new Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate which includes the Unit of Competency HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy. This Unit of Competency has a pre-requisite, Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) meaning that all candidates for the ART Certificate must have new First Aid Unit of Competency.

SLSA have further determined that all Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (ART) award holders within the membership will need to transition to HLTAID015 before 30 June 2024. This means to upgrade and maintain your ART Certificate you will need the new Provide First Aid award.

If you have the current Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) it is valid for First Aid until it expires (3 years from completion). From now on all First Aid training will be the new course.

SLSNSW is funding limited spaces in the new Provide first aid course for the following SLSNSW members only:

  • Members enrolled in the new ART course
  • Proficient ART award holders (to update by 2024)
  • Endorsed & Probationary Bronze & ART TAFs

If you want to enrol in the new ART course please register here

You will require double vaccination to enter the Clubhouse for training activities. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy training environment.
